Preserves

We make Jams, Marmalade and Chutneys for sale on our stall. We only make small batches at a time, depending on what’s available when we make it.

We make Jam with fruit from our own plants or from local suppliers (including, at times from our neighbours!) and we always try to have several varieties available at any one time such as Strawberry, Plum and Wild Damson, and Summer Fruit (made with Blackcurrants, Redcurrants, Strawberries and Raspberries – and it tasted just like Summer Pudding!)

We make Seville Orange and Three Fruit Marmalade. Seville Oranges are available in January, and we make several batches of Marmalade once we get the oranges. When this runs out, we make Three Fruit Marmalade, which combines Grapefruit, Lemon and Sweet Orange to make a tangy alternative to Seville Orange Marmalade.

We make many different Chutneys with our own Onions, Tomatoes, Beetroot, Courgettes and Peppers – in fact almost any vegetable that we have available at the time.

We occasionally have honey for sale, from hives kept on our field by local apiarist Tom Worsley.
